Guide to the areas and suburbs of New York City, USA

New York City is one of the most well known cities in the world and is areas such as Manhattan and Queens are well known in their own right. Below an introduction and link to a guide on each of the individual areas.


Manhattan Island - is the heart of New York City and with Broadway running the length of the islands and with Central Park based in the centre, this is one of the most iconic islands in the world.


When people think of NYC, Broadway and the theatre district often also soon come to mind. World famous and said by some to be the centre of the world, Broadway has been Central Park in winterused in many movies and books.


Brooklyn is a borough rich in culture and also famous for its bridge, Franklin Avenue and of course the summer favourite, Coney Island.


Harlem: Gospel, Caribbean and Southern food both immediately come to mind when one thinks of Harlem.


Queens with its airports and the Mets is a popular area also because it is cheaper to live in than Manhattan, but it is still very commutable.


Coney Island is home to the famous Cyclone roller coaster and this area offers a decent sandy beach and is the area home to the New York Aquarium.


There can be fewer areas better known worldwide than Time Square. Centre of the NYC theatre district and a focal point on Manhattan, NYC.


Greenwhich Village is central the arts area and based around the Houston Street area this is considered quite a tredny area.


Central Park in NYC is iconic and used is dozens of movies and world famous. Go ice skating in the winter time, roller blading in the summer or join the hundreds who jog daily in the park.
