Lower Manhattan shopping
The lower Manhattan area is a great area for those who love department stores, especially those which offer significant discounts. The range of electronic stores also makes this area a must for the technological junky and China Town is close by. There are also some good local markets which occur in this area on weekends.
Soho, NYC
This is one of the most fashionable areas in New York which is reflected in the calibre of shops here. The extensive range of designer labels which can be found here are not the only draw, the cobbled streets and glorious architecture add significantly to the experience.
Shopping in Times Square
This is one of the more iconic areas of New York, and it is definitely worth a visit when shopping in the city. There are many well known stores such as Toys'R'Us, Gap and a number of other well known brands. There are a number of souvenir shops in this area and this is a great area for shopping for theatre tickets. You will almost certainly find yourself in Time Square at some point on your trip to NYC, given that it is like visiting London and not seeing Piccadilly Circus if you did not walk through Time Square in NYC on your visit.
