5 more of the Best England and Irish pubs in NYC

Following on from our previous list of favourite best NYC pubs, a few more British and Irish pubs we love inNew York City.

Mc Sorley’s Old Ale House

McSorley's (located at 15 E 7th Street) is one of the oldest pubs in NY and it maintains its historical feel. It feels like a journey back in time when you step into this place, with the classic traditional pub feel and the backroom which still exists as it had in the past, when the ale was brought in during Live jazz musicProhibition. There are only 2 kinds of beer served- McSorley’s Light and McSorley’s Dark.

Swift Bar

Swift Bar is located at 34 East 4th Street, New York. Getting its name from the owner, Jonathan Swift, this bar is all about Irish Music and it serves a great beer and scotch selection. The Celtic music is a balm to the soul, with one of the best music sessions hosted by talented Irish musicians.  The ambience is exceptionally good.

Paddy McGuire’s Ale House

This fine Irish Pub (located at 237 3rd Avenue in NYC) is known to a very decent pint of Guinness. With 16 beers on tap and a number of TV sets for live sports, this traditional pub is distinctive for its doors, which belong originally from Ireland. Paddy McGuire’s is well worth a visit for those looking to cherish the old styled pub culture.

Doc Watson’s

While looking for pubs on the Upper East Side, be sure not to miss Doc Watson’s at 1490 Second Avenue. There is a beautiful garden in the back side where you can choose to rest while you enjoy your drink. Entertainment includes a pool table and darts and if present on a Sunday night, you can enjoy the Irish live music being played here.
